PRECISION PISTOL is Olympic, International, ISSF and NRA precision pistol target shooting.

We shoot .177 air pistol, .22 caliber pistols, some calibers of centerfire and all with target loads. You must own a .22 caliber pistol to join us, as we start with this caliber and shoot it the most. We start with air pistol/.22 caliber and at the end we shoot some centerfire.

We accept both competitive and recreational shooters with relaxed rules that shoot our style of precision pistol shooting.   The make and model of pistol is not important but the caliber, loads and style of shooting is important.

Monday evenings is for competitive or recreational target practice, for Competitive and Recreational members that qualify.

Sunday is for Competitive Sport Specific Training & Match Day, for Competitive and Recreational members that qualify.

PLEASE CONTACT the coordinator prior to attending your first session. You can inquire about precision pistol shooting by contacting Claudio at precision-pistol@kdfgc.org

    __________________________________________________________________________________________

IPSC is the acronym for the International Practical Shooting Confederation. IPSC is a dynamic shooting sport where the principles of Accuracy, Speed and Power are balanced in a unique scoring system. IPSC has defined Action Shooting. It requires competitors to shoot fast and accurately, often shooting on the move and developing techniques and styles to shave off fractions of a second between shots, during reloads and drawing from the holster.

PLEASE CONTACT the coordinator prior to attending your first session. Prior training (Black Badge) is required to participate in IPSC. You can inquire regarding IPSC indoor training by contacting Marcy at ipsc@kdfgc.org

RECREATIONAL (OPEN) PISTOL is handgun target practice supervised by a Range Safety Officer with an emphasis on safety, accuracy and principles of marksmanship.

Recreational (Open) Pistol will be open to most calibers and loads for target practice with some exceptions:  No pistols chambered for Rifle calibers.  No large calibers with magnum loads.  No holsters, only shooting from bench, all shots must be aimed and accurate fire.

Please remember all calibers and loads are amplified indoors. Only tolerable calibers and loads, shooting at a reasonable speed for the safety and comfort of all participants will be permitted.

Quality Eye and Ear protection is mandatory.

Indoor range per use fee is $7.00 or a 10-slot punch card for $60.00.

Please email us if you intend to join us; we have Health Rules, Indoor Range Rules and Commands to send you, so you are more prepared.

PLEASE CONTACT the coordinator prior to attending your first session. If you have any inquiries about Recreational (Open) Pistol please contact Claudio at precision-pistol@kdfgc.org  (Claudio is coordinating BOTH Precision and Recreational).

    Indoor Adult Programs Schedule:

Indoor adult programs for Precision Pistol, Recreational Pistol, Archery, and IPSC are currently scheduled for opening in mid-October. Discipline Directors are developing training plans in compliance with the BC Target Sports Association and BC Archery Association “Return to Sport” workbook.  These detailed plans are designed to protect participants, coaches and volunteers when training in a COVID-19 environment, and will be available for the review of all participants prior to opening.  Special thanks is due to the Discipline Directors for putting in a significant amount of volunteer time in order to safely offer these programs.

Please continue to check the “News” and "Calendar" section of the KDFGC website for updated schedules and information.

    Indoor Junior Program Cancellation:

After careful consideration of the risks posed by potential transmission of the COVID-19 virus, the KDFGC Board of Directors has made the difficult choice to suspend delivery of our popular Tuesday evening Junior Rifle and Archery program.  Of particular concern is the Junior’s use of shared equipment, distributed ammunition, and physical distancing required for effective individual coaching. We will continue to evaluate the risks and available controls, and reintroduce the Junior Program when safe to do so.

The KDFGC Board of Directors would like to express their concern and best wishes for members and their families to stay healthy during this challenging time. We look forward to returning to regular operations and social activities as soon as appropriate.

Thank you for your understanding in the interim.

    Sincerely,

    KDFGC Board of Directors
