Kelowna Precision Pistol League
The Kelowna Precision Pistol League is a one-handed Olympic, International and NRA Conventional bulls-eye style shooting sports discipline.
We shoot mostly precision (slow fire) with some timed and rapid fire. We shoot .177 caliber (4.5mm) competition pellet air pistols. We shoot mostly .22 caliber live ammo pistols. We also shoot some target load center fire pistols.
KPPL is providing a venue for the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) pistol events: 50 m Pistol (Free Pistol); 25 m Rapid Fire Pistol; 25 m Center Fire Pistol; 25 m Standard Pistol; 25 m Pistol (Sport Pistol); and 10 m Air Pistol. KPPL also engages in NRA Conventional Pistol in all calibers (large calibers only outdoors).
We shoot indoors at 20 yards at the indoor range on Monday evenings during the winter months. We shoot air pistols but mostly .22 caliber pistols and target load center fire pistols, mostly .32 S&W long and .38 calibers indoors.
During warmer weather, we shoot outdoors on our 50-metre range – which features covered firing points. Outdoors we shoot mostly .22 caliber pistols and target load center fire pistols. We also engage in some NRA Conventional Pistol (Bulls-eye), with .22 caliber pistols and target load center fire pistols up to .45 caliber.
We welcome new members interested in one-handed “bulls-eye style” target shooting under the ISSF and NRA rules. Coaching is available; so don’t be reluctant to join us even though you may not have tried this style of shooting before. Some of us shoot for fun or to improve our marksmanship, while others do the same and shoot for competition.
